One of our goals at North Davie is to teach our students professional soft skills like eye contact, a proper handshake, holding a conversation and interacting in a professional manner. We do this by directly teaching these skills and then having students compete in a series of competitions called, The Amazing Shake! These skills will help them succeed both now and in the future.
The event begins with business professionals who will be joining us at North Davie Middle School. Students will go through a professional skills obstacle course, spending 1 minute interacting with each area's professionals. After each interaction, the professionals will score the students based on factors such as handshake firmness, eye contact, confidence, and common sense.
