At North Davie, we believe that student success is built through a strong partnership between school and home. Our teachers and staff are committed to providing a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment—but we can't do it alone. Families play a powerful role in shaping a child's habits, attitudes, and success.
This year, we're inviting every North Davie family to join us in making four simple commitments. These aren't about being perfect—they're about being intentional. Together, these small actions can have a big impact on your child's growth.
1. Prioritize Family Time
In today's busy world, time together matters more than ever. Whether it's eating dinner together, taking a walk, or simply talking about the day, these moments build trust, strengthen relationships, and let children know they are valued. Put the phones away for a little while, be present, and ask questions about school, friends, and life.
2. Establish a Real Bedtime
Learning begins with rest. Students who get enough sleep are more focused, make better decisions, and are ready to learn each day. Create a consistent bedtime routine and keep technology out of the bedroom before bed. A well-rested child is set up for success before they even walk through our doors.
3. Hold Kids Accountable
Children thrive when expectations are clear and consistent. We ask families to partner with us by holding students accountable for their schoolwork, behavior, and choices—both at home and at school. When students know the adults in their lives are working together, they develop responsibility, resilience, and confidence.
4. Consider Positive Intent
We know that raising children takes a team. When concerns arise, we ask families to begin with the assumption that everyone wants what is best for your child. Honest conversations, mutual respect, and trust help us solve problems together. We may not always agree, but we can always work together with a shared goal: helping each student succeed.
North United
These commitments reflect who we are as a school community. When families and educators are united, students benefit in countless ways. We appreciate your partnership and all you do to support your child each day.
Together, we are North United—working side by side to help every Wildcat learn, grow, and lead, today and in the future!
